Below are step-by-step instructions on how to properly export your GarageBand files for use in Pro Tools. Basically, I'll need each individual track WITHOUT ANY EFFECTS. No reverb. No EQ. No compression. Nothing... This means you’ll need to disable all effects in the master track AND each individual track. Once these are disabled, engage “Track Lock” per the instructions below. Track Lock processes each track in your song and writes a new audio file for each of those tracks. These audio files are exact renderings of the tracks. (MIDI/software instrument tracks are converted to audio as the assigned software instrument.)

Select the 'Track' main menu, then "Show Track Lock."

Each track now shows a new button with a lock icon like the one circled here.

Click on each of these buttons so the lock is engaged for every track in your project.

Press "Play" and the tracks will begin locking (this step can take a bit of time).

Once GarageBand finishes locking the tracks, open a Finder window and locate the project's GarageBand document. Right click (or control-click) and select "Show Package Contents."

Finder will open another window that shows the folders inside your GarageBand project. The audio files we are looking for are located in the "Freeze Files" folder. Open that folder to reveal its contents.

You will find one file per track. Don't worry that they have somewhat odd names.Copy all of these files into an easy-to-find location like your desktop or a flash drive. Do this right away as GarageBand may treat these files as temporary and delete/move/replace them the next time you open your project.

Now click on the little blue robot at the top of this web page to launch a free file sharing service. Here you can upload the files and send to jaymafale@gmail.com.
